Bon Island
Question
Hi,
My partner and I are looking to get married in January 2013 in Phuket.
We originally were steering more towards Koh Samui but have been advised that since we are having guests from Australia and Germany Phuket is much easier to get to.
We were hoping for somewhere with a little night life surrounding but as we wanted a beach wedding somewhere also a little secluded. I have heard about Chalong Bay. Would you have any other suggestions?
Many thanks,
Anita Bochnik
Answer
Hi Anita
How exciting….
Phuket has many beautiful beaches, and I am sure you won’t be disappointed with choosing Phuket for your special day..
There are many beaches that you can pick, however the main tourist beaches such as Patong, Karon and Kata beaches are somewhat busy at this time of the year.
The east side of the island is ideal with views overlooking the nearby islands, and if you would prefer to stay closer to the nightlife most wedding planners can organise transport to and from the wedding venue for both you and your guests.
Some of the best beaches that we can suggest are:
Ao Yon Beach, a beautiful quiet beach located on the south east coast.
Yanui Beach, located south of Nai Harn Beach near Promthep Cape on the Southern tip of Phuket.
Layan Beach is beautiful and not well known, located in a shallow bay at the far northern end of Bang Tao Beach on the west coast.
Or further north on the west coast there are beautiful beaches such as Nai Thon, Nai Yang and Mai Khao beaches which are quiet nearly all year round.
One of our favourite spots is located in the headland just south of Patong, called Tri Tra Beach. The beach at high tide is stunning with views across to Patong and towards Nakalay Bay, at low tide the beach isn’t the best, however a good wedding planner would take this into consideration and know the tides.
Another option you maybe interested in is an island wedding to one of the beautiful offshore islands that are located close to Phuket such as Koh Kai Nok, Coral Island or the beautiful Bon Island.
If you are interested in finding a professional wedding planner that can help you organise your special day, please send us an email through one of our wedding pages and we will have the information forwarded on to you.
We hope this information helps you find that special place in Phuket for one the most important days of your lives.
Best wishes
Paula & Jeff
