Seila our Tuk Tuk Driver in Siem Reap

Seila our Tuk Tuk Driver in Siem Reap

Are you looking for an honest & reliable Tuk Tuk Driver in Siem Reap to see the sights of the Angkor Archaeological Park?

During one of our most recent holidays we travelled through Cambodia, taking in the sights of Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and the Angkor Archaeological Park.

We flew from Kuala Lumpur into Phnom Penh where we explored the sombre sights of the Killing Fields and the Toul Sleng Genocide Museum known as the S-21 Prison.

From Phnom Penh we travelled by taxi to Siem Reap, where we would spend the next couple of days touring around the Angkor Archaeological Park before travelling overland to Bangkok.

Before we left Australia we spent hours researching the web to find a reliable, English speaking tuk tuk driver to show us around Siem Reap and Angkor Wat.

The time we spent researching was certainly time well spent.

We found ourselves an absolute gem!

The tuk tuk driver that we hired for the duration of our stay was fantastic, and we would highly recommend other travellers going to Siem Reap to contact him.

Our Tuk Tuk drivers name is Seila, the owner and operator of Seila Tuk Tuk and Transport Services.

Our first contact with Seila was via email, in which he responded to us very efficiently with a detailed itinerary for us to look over.

Over the next couple of weeks we kept in contact with Seila and tweaked our itinerary slightly to allow for a little more sleep.

The day before leaving Phnom Pehn we emailed Seila to confirm with him what time and where he could pick us up from, which he requested we do.

As we caught a taxi from Phnom Pehn we didn’t need him to pick us up from the bus station which he had offered to do free of charge.

Talk about customer service, when we arrived at our hotel in Siem Reap, Seila was there waiting to greet us and to go over the next day’s travel plans.

Our first day was to start at 5.00am however as we arrived late in the evening the night before we asked Seila if we could start our tour around 6.00 am instead.

As promised Seila had his tuk tuk at the hotel by 6.00 am, and we were off to get our 3 day Anchor Pass before heading to Angkor Wat, which was the first of many temples we explored, we arrived back at our hotel that evening at around 6.30 pm totally exhausted.

Day two was an even bigger day and due to the itinerary we chose and the distance we had to travel, we had the option of travelling by tuk tuk or in an air conditioned car.

We loved traveling in the tuk tuk but in the end knowing the distance we were going to cover we opted for the comfort of the air conditioned car.

We started out at Sras Srang for sunrise then to Pre Rup, Bateay Samre, Bateay Srei and then onto Kbal Spean some 50 kilometres northeast of Siem Reap where the 4 of us with Seila as our guide embarked on the 1500 meter uphill trek.

Our travels with Seila also included a stop at the Cambodian Landmine Museum, of which is a real eye opener and definitely worth a visit.

After the landmine museum Seila took us to explore the sights at East Mebon, Ta Som, Neak Pean, Preah Khan then onto Phnom Bakheng for sunset.

Seila also arranged a taxi for us to Poipet so we could then make our way across the border into Thailand.

All our travel arrangements in and around Siem Reap were so easy because of Seila, spending the time to go through everything with us.

The total costs for Seila and his tuk tuk and car for our 3 days in Siem Reap including sunrise and sunset trips and the taxi to the border cost us around $US80.00 for four people.

Seila’s private tours are very comprehensive and offer excellent value for money.

Seila can take you to all the Temples in the Angkor Archaeological Park as well as a range of other attractions in and around Siem Reap, he specialises in providing customized tours to suit your individual needs.

Seila can even organise transport to the Cambodian Thai border.

Tuk Tuk Tours with Seila include

  • Free pick up service from Airport, Bus Station or Ferry

  • Free Sunrise and Sunset Trip

  • Free drinking water for the tours

  • Free return trip to Siem Reap for a break
