June is usually a quiet month in Phuket, and visitors can enjoy cheaper off season room rates at the resorts and hotels. Yes there is a chance that you will get to experience a cloudy or rainy day in Phuket at this time of the year, however the temperature is ideal. If you do visit Phuket during June, and it does happen to rain there are many fun rainy day activities available for all ages on the Island.

What’s On in Phuket in June

For golfing enthusiasts the Mercedes-Benz Masters will be held in Phuket from the 2nd to the 5th of July, the event will be played at the challenging Laguna Phuket Golf Club.

The Phuket film festival runs from the 4th to the 13th of June, the Royal Gala Opening will be held at the Royal Phuket Marina on Saturday the 5th of June. All of the films will be shown at the Coliseum Cineplex theatres in Phuket Town. The event is designed to promote tourism to Phuket and to showcase the culture and heritage.

From the 11th to the 20th of June head to Jungceylon in Patong to see the amazing Thai miniature display. Apart from the display there will be demonstrations and DIY miniature items everyday.

The 5th Laguna Phuket International Marathon will take place on Sunday the 13th June, at the Laguna Phuket Resort. The event will feature a marathon, half marathon, 10km run, 5km family walk and a 2km kids run.

For a fun filled day of sailing make your way to Ao Yon Bay for the Phuket Yacht Club Southwest monsoon Race and Fun Day on the 13th June from 10.30 to 4.30pm.

At this time of the year the sea is not flat and if you are into surfing there are some great beaches on the west coast of the Island that are ideal to catch a wave.

If you are planning a holiday vacation to Phuket, and would like to stay directly on the beach. Or if you are on a tight budget, you can’t go past the Seaside Cottages that are located on Mai Khao beach. From now till the 31 October they are offering great deals and a unique experience.
