Hello and welcome to this issue of Phuket Travel Secrets monthly e-zine

What’s on in Phuket in January 2011

On New Years Eve, join the locals at the colourful Red Cross Fair, try out some interesting local delicacies as well as shop for art and crafts. The festival will officially open at 5.30pm at the Saphan Hin Central Stage. Entertainment includes live music and dance shows. This is an event that everyone can enjoy, especially families with young children.

For boating enthusiast the Phuket International Boat Show will be held from the 6th to the 9th of January 2010 at the Royal Phuket Marina. Everything from super yachts to power boats, sail boats, speed boats and dinghies will be on display.

On Sunday 23rd January, join in and have fun at the Phuket Rubber Duck Race, where you will see two thousands yellow rubber ducks launched on a stream next to the Latitude marquee in the Laguna Phuket resort complex. There will be Dragon boat races, kayak races, a home-made raft race and just for the kids a cardboard box race.

Just like anywhere else in the world, New Year’s Eve in Phuket is a huge party. Pretty much anywhere on the island you will find lively events happening and most beaches will have some kind of beach party. In Patong and Karon you are sure to see fireworks and most other parts of the island too.

Whilst you’re enjoying your holiday vacation in Phuket, there is no need to worry about missing your favorite sports on TV. Head to Duke’s Sports bar at Kata Beach where you will be able to enjoy a cold beer and popcorn and watch your chosen sport live on one of their big screens. You will be assured of a great time with Karen and Mark and their friendly staff.
